It all started back in 1945 when a man from Amalfi, Luigi Amendola, decided to turn a little Osteria in the delightful and characteristic Piazza dei Dogi in Amalfi, into a Trattoria, in order to feed his 15 children and wife Carmela. Up until then, the place had represented a great hangout for locals where to play cards, enjoy typical fish dishes and drink a nice glass of wine.
Home cooking and great attention to hospitality have always been the main features of the restaurant even when Luigi’s children took over and continued their father’s business with hard work and great sacrifice.
In 2019 the restaurant goes to the son Bartolo, his nephew Alfonso and a dear family friend, Paolo. They then decide to enrich their recipes with those scents and flavours so typical of the Amalfi Coast, offering dishes that have made the history of our tradition as well as dishes derived from the varied regional cuisine.
You will be able to taste the true flavour of traditional local cuisine, among the scents and colours of the Amalfi Coast, while enjoying a cosy, romantic atmosphere.
